ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Amanda Newell is a mom of two, an avid traveler, a lover of books and learning, being in nature, matcha lattes, and animals. Her mom always encouraged her to write her stories down because she traveled so much and had so much to share. After losing her mom to cancer and then her beloved dog, Nash, she decided to share her love of adventure through the eyes of her late dog.

After graduating from Western Michigan University, she moved west to live and explore in the mountains of Colorado. She guided trail rides on horseback through the Rocky Mountains, nannied for many years, managed a restaurant, and eventually ended up in sales and marketing. In 2014, she adopted Nash from a rescue in Denver. He became her best friend and travel companion. Together, they traveled to the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic, Lake Michigan, through the rolling hills of the mid-west, the Ozarks of Arkansas, and ended up in the sunshine state.

Amanda was born and raised in West Michigan where her love for nature and animals began. Before meeting her husband, she lived in Colorado for 10 years where her love for nature and adventures deepened. She currently lives in Florida with her husband and two kids. She spends most of her time with her family and friends and is always up for the next adventure!
